Project Overview
This project is launched at a large steel structure factory in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The customer mainly undertakes steel structure projects for Southeast Asian industrial plants, logistics warehouses and infrastructure construction. It focuses on processing large-size H-beams and complies with both Vietnamese TCVN standards and EU EN1090 steel structure certification. Undertaking local and foreign general contracting projects, the client requires high precision on H-beam cutting sections, bevel quality and assembly consistency. The installed equipment is a 20KW MAX fiber laser 3D 5-axis laser cutting machine with 12m standard double fixed stations (non-exchange table), specialized in one-stop processing of H-beam cutting, hole drilling, notch cutting and multi-angle beveling.



Customer Pain Points of Traditional Steel Structure Processing
Benefiting from rapid growth of infrastructure and manufacturing in Vietnam, the customer's steel structure orders have increased steadily. However, the original flame and plasma cutting processes can no longer meet the mass production requirements of high-standard H-beams.
● Traditional thermal cutting causes severe thermal deformation, rough cutting sections and poor bevel quality on H-beam flanges and webs, requiring massive manual polishing and rework. Faced with the shortage of skilled workers and rising labor costs in Vietnam, the customer bore high production expenses.
● In addition, the traditional scattered procedures of cutting, drilling, beveling and notching require multiple machines and frequent hoisting of 12m H-beams, resulting in long production cycles and delayed delivery for foreign-funded projects.
● Manual programming errors and incompatibility with Tekla BIM models lead to high scrap rates, affecting project acceptance and brand reputation.
● Meanwhile, flame and plasma cutting produce heavy smoke and harsh working conditions with high safety risks in Vietnam’s high-temperature workshop environment.

Customized 12m Fixed Double‑Station Laser Cutting Solution
Based on Vietnam's high-temperature and high-humidity workshop environment, EU steel structure standards and the client's mass production demands for 12m H-beams, we provided a customized 12m double fixed-station 5-axis section laser cutting solution.
Adopting double independent fixed stations instead of exchange tables, the equipment features more stable structure, lower failure rate and better adaptability to long-term continuous production in Southeast Asia.

● 20KW MAX high-power laser source: It delivers excellent beam quality, high electro-optical conversion efficiency and excellent high-temperature stability. It supports 24-hour continuous operation in Vietnam’s hot workshops and stably cuts thick-wall H-beams with burr-free sections, greatly reducing post-polishing workload.
● 12m double fixed-station design: Two independent working zones support simultaneous feeding, positioning and cutting without mutual interference. Compared with single-station equipment, it effectively improves equipment utilization and daily output, with a simpler, more stable structure and lower maintenance costs.
● 3D 5-axis RTCP linkage cutting: The cutting head performs multi-angle swinging to complete one-time forming of arbitrary-angle bevels, notches, welding holes and full cutting for H-beams, perfectly meeting the processing needs of factory steel columns, roof beams and special-shaped components.
● Seamless BIM model docking: Directly import Tekla 3D detailed models and automatically generate cutting programs, eliminating manual secondary modeling and programming, realizing seamless connection from design to production and reducing component scrap caused by human error.
● Localized adaptation: The equipment adapts to Vietnam’s 380V/50Hz industrial voltage, complies with CE certification, and meets dustproof and moistureproof requirements for Southeast Asian humid and hot climate, supported by remote operation and localized after-sales training.

● Thirdly, labor costs are significantly reduced, eliminating over 70% of manual polishing, rework and secondary processing work, solving the problem of skilled labor shortage in Vietnam and lowering overall production costs.

Project Summary
