Product Overview
Single girder gantry cranes are popular light & medium duty outdoor lifting equipment widely used for material handling, loading and unloading, and workpiece transfer. It features simple structure, stable operation, easy installation and low maintenance costs.
XINGHUOTEC offers three mature series of products: MH series standard straight leg full gantry, MHL series Partial-hanging L-shaped gantry crane, and BMH series single beam semi gantry crane.
All series can be equipped with traditional CD/MD electric hoist (cost-effective) or European low-headroom hoist (high precision & high working duty classification) to meet different budget and working requirements.

Application Scenarios
Single girder gantry cranes are widely used in steel stockyards, steel structure factories, concrete precast yards, stone processing yards, logistics warehouses, construction sites, outdoor area of machinery workshops, railway freight yards and ports auxiliary handling, and other scenarios.

Different Types of Single Girder Gantry Cranes
XINGHUOTEC provides three core series to suit various site conditions:
1. MH Series – Standard straight-leg full gantry crane, an economical general-purpose model.
2. MHL Series – L-type offset hoist gantry crane (partial suspended hoist design), large inner passing space, specially for long workpieces.
3. BMH Series – Single girder semi gantry crane, one leg + one building-side fixing design, space-saving for workshop side yards.

MH Series Standard Single Girder Gantry Cranes
Technical features:
MH gantry cranes are conventional full gantry crane with double straight vertical legs and box-type main girder. Matched with standard CD/MD electric hoist, it is the most cost-effective general-purpose model for ordinary outdoor lifting work. Their simple structure, easy maintenance and interchangeable spare parts make them popular.
Ideal for: Regular material lifting in ordinary factory areas, storage yards, and construction sites.

MHL Series L-Type Offset Hoist Gantry Cranes
Technical features:
MHL gantry crane are partial hanging (offset hoist) type gantry cranes with L-shaped bent support legs. Different from conventional centered hoist design, the electric hoist is installed on the inner side of the main girder, which greatly increases the internal horizontal clearance. Long steel pipes, profile steel and precast beams can pass freely through the gantry without collision.
Ideal for: Steel markets, pipe yards, prefabricated beam yards, long material processing sites.

BMH Series Single Girder Semi Gantry Cranes
Technical features:
BMH semi gantry cranes feature single-side leg structure. One side travels on ground rails, while the other end is fixed on the factory building column. It saves large floor space and foundation costs, ideal for workshop edge outdoor narrow working areas.
Ideal for: Factory building sides, indoor-outdoor transition zones, and wall-adjacent small yards.
Dual Hoist Configuration is Optional

Traditional CD / MD Electric Hoist
Standard configuration for MH and MHL economy models. Mature structure, low price, easy maintenance and part replacement. Suitable for general intermittent working conditions A3-A4.

European Low Headroom Electric Hoist
Optional upgrade for all series. Compact body, ultra-low headroom, variable frequency speed, low noise, high working duty classification A5-A6, high positioning accuracy, suitable for high-end factory precise lifting.

How to Choose the Right Single Girder Gantry Crane?
The key to selection is accurate demand matching. Balance load, span, working intensity and site conditions to avoid over-design or under-specification, ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective crane operation.
Quick Selection Checklist:Confirm load safety margin → Match site span & clearance → Select suitable working duty classification → Confirm cantilever & moving mode → Match hoist and environmental configurations → Verify on-site power compatibility.
Step 1:Lifting Capacity
Standard load range: 3–20 tons (customizable up to 32 tons). Reserve a 20%–30% safety margin based on the maximum lifting weight (including accessories) to avoid overload risks. Do not oversize the model to prevent unnecessary costs and space waste.
Step 2:Span & Working Space
Span is the distance between two support legs, determining working coverage:
● 6–10m: Narrow workshops, light intermittent handling.
● 10–15m: Most versatile, for regular factories and warehouses.
● 15–20m: Large outdoor yards and steel processing sites.
● Over 20m: Custom thickened main girders required for stability.
Reserve safety clearance on both sides for anti-collision and buffer installation;Longer spans come with higher costs, so over-design should be avoided.
Step 3:Duty Class (Match Working Intensity)
Comply with FEM/ISO standards to match daily operation hours and frequency:
● A3–A4 (Light): 1–2 hours daily, sporadic maintenance and handling.
● A5 (Medium): 4–6 hours daily, regular factory/warehouse cyclic operations (most common).
● A6 (Heavy): Over 8 hours daily, high-frequency batch production and yard operations.
Upgrade duty class and add dust-proof, anti-corrosion configurations for harsh environments.
Step 4:Key Structural & Mobility Configurations
4.1 Cantilever
No cantilever (closed independent area), single cantilever (truck loading/unloading), double cantilever (max working range).
4.2 Moving Type
● Rail-mounted: Stable, high precision, for fixed long-term working areas.
● Rubber-tyred: Rail-free, flexible, for temporary and multi-site operation.
● Semi-gantry: Space-saving, for indoor edge operation.
4.3 Hoist Type
All series can be equipped with traditional CD/MD electric hoist (cost-effective) or European low-headroom hoist (high precision & high duty classification) to meet different budget and working requirements.
Step 5:Environment & Power Adaptation
Outdoor cranes require rain-proof, rust-proof and wind-proof devices; special flammable, explosive or corrosive scenarios need explosion-proof and anti-corrosion customization. Match on-site voltage (380V mainstream) and frequency to avoid power mismatch failures.
Step 6:Common Selection Pitfalls to Avoid
Avoid over-sizing parameters (wasting costs), underrating working intensity (shortening service life), ignoring site clearance/ground bearing capacity, and neglecting future capacity expansion demands.
